After a recent trip to Costco, this is what our refrigerator looked like:
Everytime Brian reaches in the refrigerator, something falls out. And then he gets mad. Somehow that never happens to me!

Paris: The City of... Diarrhea???
We recently returned from brief trip to Paris. We were there 5 days, 4 nights. It was supposed to fun and romantic: holding hands in front of the Eiffel Tower, marveling at the artwork in the Louvre, and eating wonderful French food.
Instead, we experienced disaster after disaster! The first day, we stayed at the Radisson hotel in Roissy (near Paris). Our first room did not have a working air conditioner. After much confusion with the hotel staff, we changed rooms. The second room was a pleasant temperature, but there was some strange, unidentified object attached to the wall that buzzed (which sounded like a cell phone vibrating on a hard surface) about every 30 minutes. We couldn't sleep at all. Then, later that morning, I slipped and fell out of the shower, landing face first. It really set the mood for the whole trip.
While the hotel (Hotel Relais Medicis) we stayed at in the city was absolutely lovely, there's not much else about the trip that was. We made the mistake of drinking the local water (Brian is too cheap to buy bottled water), which we believe led to severe bouts of diarrhea for both of us. Needless to say, the rest of the trip was a nightmare. Thankfully, the Louvre has many bathrooms!
This may sound ignorant, but we have never been more thankful and appreciative of being "dumb" Americans. Coming home to our comfortable bed, cold air conditioner, ice, non-lethal water, and overhead showers was such a dream!
